This is Singapore’s first suspension footbridge called Tanjong Rhu Suspension Footbridge built in 1998. This bridge allows residents of Tanjong Rhu to cross over to the National Stadium across the Geylang River. This is a S$5.1million bridge.

Merdeka Bridge

This bridge spanned across the mouth of Kallang and Rochor River. It was built in 1956 by PWD (Public Works Department). It was built to ease the traffic condition at Geylang towards City. There used to be 2 stone lions on this bridge in the past.

Mustafa

The Mustafa shopping centre is expanding its ground at Serangoon Road. This two buildings are linked by an overhead bridge and a sign to show “24 hours” shopping. Not many 24 hours shopping you can find in Singapore.

Elgin Bridge

The Elgin Bridge was decorated to celebrate the opening of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in the heart of Chinatown.

This bridge was completed in 1929 and named after the then governor General of India, Lord Elgin. This was the first bridge to be built across the Singapore River. Elgin Bridge served to link the Chinese community on the south side of the River to the Indian merchants of High Street on the north side.
